Journey to the interior
Larie Taveira, the Brazilian-born musician now based in Portugal, brings us MANDAKÍ, a collective work which is both intimate and political. In this new work, the artist brings to the stage the narrative of their non-binarity and trans-masculine body via a multidisciplinary performance piece. Sound, lighting, poetry, video and movement dialogue with each other in order to create a vibrant sensorial experience which questions gender and its norms, a true celebration of marginalised identities. The show is a political manifesto of self-acceptance and resistance, an interior voyage which broadens, to powerful effect, the way we look upon the multiple modes of the existence.
