Seeing, reading and hearing dance

With her roots in the hip hop scene, the dancer and choreographer Mellina Boubetra presents two pieces, together with an installation at the Festival Arts & Humanités.
NYST, first performed in 2022 at the Festival d’Avignon questions the way we watch, imagine and project ourselves in dance. Onstage, alongside the audio describer Julie Compans, she explores, in an exchange of a poetic nature, the delicate space that exists between words and movements.
INTRO, her first piece, centres upon raw emotions. Performed by a female quartet, Mellina Boubetra’s conception of the danced dialogue is that of “a conversation between several voices”. This group dynamic is set to uplifting electronic music and subtle lighting changes. This exceptional double-bill takes us right into the beating heart of this artist’s creative process.
