Performance by Calixto Neto at the ENSAPC
Following the exhibition opening, the festival swings into action at the ENSAPC, where dancer and choreographer Calixto Neto, currently in residence at Points Communs, presents his new work, Outrar. Which identities are considered as being “other” in our society? Taking as its starting point a performance by the Brazilian choreographer Lia Rodrigues, Calixto Neto explores, via a gesture that is both intimate and political, what it means to become or embody “the other”. Infused with the poetry of Fernando Pessoa, Outrar probes marginalised identities and makes use of the body as a place of power and transformation.
