Emotional discharge
In Arrebentação, Brazilian choreographer Catol Teixeira explores, with great intensity, the ways in which bodies contaminate and overflow into each other. Alternating between sensuality, solidarity, combat, and even trance, the performers appear to be inhabited by superior forces. By means of a hybrid environment of dancing, sound-inducing bodies, Arrebentação mourns our inability to be in the world, whilst invoking dance as a possible recourse. It brings us pure emotion and poetry of the most condensed kind !
